Pan-Seared Sesame Lemongrass Pork Skewers
Pan-seared sesame lemongrass pork skewers; sweet & savoury, with caramelized bits of lemongrass, garlic and shallots and a subtle roasted aroma from the ground sesame seeds. Pairs, perfectly with a bowl of rice or vermicelli noodles and served with an abundance of fresh greens, herbs and a drizzle of Vietnamese nuoc cham (optional).
I also have a few more variations of this recipe that I will share in the future! But for now, enjoy this simple and easy method.
1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 shallots, minced
1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons lemongrass, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds, grounded
2 green onion stalks, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- In a large bowl mix together: pork, garlic, shallots, fish sauce, lemongrass, oil, sugar, honey, sesame seeds, salt & pepper. Cover, and allow the pork to marinate for 24 hours, in the refrigerator.
- Thread pork onto skewers.
- Heat pan to med-high heat. Sear on each side, about 6 minutes, per side. While the pan is still warm, garnish with chopped green onions.
Note: These skewers are perfect for grilling as well.
